CPR Training

The Westlake Fire-EMS Department is a certified American Red Cross training site and teaches classes to the public. The department uses the American Red Cross certification course.

The course is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult, child and infant CPR, and AED use. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who desires to learn CPR for personal or professional purposes. The course is NOT intended for healthcare providers. The class instruction is offered to you for FREE! If you desire the certification card, a fee for the card will be required. Currently, the American Red Cross charges $22.00 for the certification card.

To stay fresh on your skills between training classes and for the preparedness information you need every day, download the FREE Red Cross Mobile Apps.

The classes will be held on Saturday mornings from 9:00-12:00 on:

  • September 28, 2019
  • December 14, 2019
  • March 14, 2020
  • June 13, 2020
  • September 12, 2020

Additionally, we also offer Stop the Bleed program which is a national awareness campaign intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

If you would like to receive this training to prepare yourself to assist injured people following a traumatic event, please let us know and we can offer it to you with your CPR training. The Stop the Bleed training will require an additional hour of instruction.

If you would like to register for a class, please contact our Fire Department at 817-490-5780.
