5:30 pm Update: Westlake staff has now reported that the road repair on northbound Roanoke Road needs further work. The entire drainage pipe below the pothole we first told you about earlier today (Friday) will now need to be replaced. Therefore, the entire road will need to be closed so that crews can make the necessary repairs. There will not be any access north of Charles Schwab to SH 170. Roanoke Road will be closed from 7am Saturday through Sunday evening. These repairs are expected to be completed by this weekend. Charles Schwab and our Westlake neighborhood traffic will need to detour south of the Schwab site along Roanoke Road. Please seek alternative routes and view the attached map for assistance. Should work be completed sooner, the road will open ahead of schedule. We understand this will be an inconvenience to many of you, but please trust that staff and repair crews are working through the weekend to ensure that the impact on your commute is minimal.
2:00 pm Update: Westlake staff estimate a temporary pothole repair will be completed by early evening. Crews are working hard to open the northbound lane by 7-8:00 pm and will be on-site to help direct traffic around the 5 pm peak time. Please expect delays. Since asphalt is not available today, crews plan to return early next week to pour and complete a permanent repair. Therefore, please be aware the northbound lane will have to close again for a few hours during this time. Please continue to drive safely & slowly while work crews are on site. Thank you for your continued patience.
Original post: We want to notify our residents, businesses, and all Westlake drivers of a large pothole that was discovered along northbound Roanoke Road, just north of Charles Schwab. Westlake staff and repair crews are on-site now to assess the situation and begin repairs.
The northbound lane will be closed for several hours while crews are on-site. Once more is known regarding the repair, we will post updates on our social media accounts and Town website. Please drive carefully while traveling in this area. Thank you.
