Snow picked up overnight but has finally tapered off. Conditions around Westlake are poor as the wind is blowing the snow creating snowdrifts across the road. Parts of the highways are clear while others have large amounts of snow built up from drifts.
Most internal roads within Westlake are slick but passable. Town crews have been sanding since midnight and will continue to sand this morning. Please be safe if you're heading out to work this morning.
Westlake residents are also experiencing rolling blackouts due to the strain on the power grid. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is asking everyone to reduce their electricity use as much as possible through Tuesday, Feb. 16 to avoid extensive outages. If power reserves drop too low, ERCOT may need to declare an Energy Emergency Alert. If you are experiencing power outages and served by Tri-County, call 817-444-3201 to report them.
