The following overview is provided to give potential applicants information regarding the Town's inspection process. These are presented only as a general overview and should not be construed as a comprehensive breakdown.
Inspections
Iinspections must be requested by calling the Inspection Request Line at 817-490-5718. The following information is required for all inspection requests:
name and contact information of the person requesting the inspection
address of the project
type of inspection being requested
date and time the inspection is desired
Fire
Residential
Residential fire inspections are performed by the Westlake Department of Public Safety personnel. Inspections will be completed within 72 hours from the time a request is made. If the inspection is performed and red-tagged, there will be a $75 re-inspection fee that must be paid prior to a re-inspection. After hours inspection request will be performed at a minimum of $200. Same day re-inspection request will require a $75 additional inspection fee.
Residential inspections will generally consist of: in-ground, riser, above ground, and pressure testing of the fire sprinkler suppression system.

Commercial
Commercial fire inspections are performed by Westlake Department of Public Safety personnel. Commercial inspections will be completed on the next business day from the time a request is made. If the inspection is performed and red-tagged, there will be a $75 re-inspection fee that must be paid prior to a re-inspection. After hours inspection request will be performed at a minimum of $200. Same day re-inspection request will require a $75 additional inspection fee.
Commercial inspections generally consist of: vent a hoods, alarm systems, HVAC ducts, fire extinguishers, exits, and annual commercial fire suppression system checks.
