If you have been contacted by the warrant division for the Court you
must dispose of your case immediately to avoid the possibility of
arrest.
Warrant officers are dedicated to actively pursue any defendant who has
an outstanding warrant. These warrants are entered into a State wide
database and you are subject to arrest at any time by a peace officer
from any jurisdiction.
Most
commonly, if you are pulled over for a traffic violation and have
outstanding warrants, the officer will arrest you and notify the
Westlake Warrant Officer that you are being held on the charges. The
Warrant Officer will make arrangements to have you transported to the
jail facility to await arraignment by the Judge.
You
may retain an attorney to represent you in this matter or you may
contact the warrant division at (817) 430-0936 to find out what options
are available to you to avoid arrest.
The options to clear your warrant are:
Payment of the fine in full.
Contact the office for a payment plan.
Post a cash bond and request a new court date.
Hire an attorney to post a bond for you and appear on your behalf.
Retain the services of a bail/bonding agency to post bonds.
Serve your time in the jail facility.
Payment Plans
If
you have multiple warrants with the Town of Westlake you may pay one
warrant every 30 days. After payment of the first warrant fee, your
cases will be removed from warrant status and held in a pending status
for the next payment. If you fail to make the required payment, your
case will be immediately returned to active warrant status and the
warrants re-entered into the State database.
