Contractor Registration

The following contractors must register with the Town of Westlake before work can commence:

  • General
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Plumbing
  • Irrigation
  • Pool/Spa
  • Backflow

Contractors or subcontractors may register online. An online account may be used to submit permit applications and request inspections after registration. Note that online account setup requires an activation letter which can be requested from Customer Service. Permit applications submitted online will not be considered complete until all documentation has been received.

Contractors may also fill out the Contractor Registration Form at the Town of Westlake and pay the appropriate fees. For any questions contact the Customer Service Department via email at or at (817) 430-0941.

Requesting an Inspection

To schedule inspections, please email Customer Service Department at (or) call the inspection request line at (817) 490-5718. Inspections must be requested by 4:00 P.M. for next day inspection. 
The following information is required for all inspection requests:

  1. Permit # of the project
  2. Address of the project
  3. Type of inspection being requested
  4. Date the inspection is desired
  5. Name and contact information of the person requesting the inspection

Fire Inspection

To schedule a fire inspection, please call the fire station at 817-490-5780. A three day advanced notice is required for all fire inspections. All commercial buildings are required to have an annual fire inspection as well as an initial fire inspection before opening their office to occupants.

Work Without A Permit 

Absolutely no work is to commence until a tree protection inspection has been approved and a building permit or earth disturbance permit is issued. Work without a permit is subject to an investigation fee.

Authorized Construction Hours

The Town of Westlake Code of Ordinances regulates noise very strictly. Between the hours of 7:00AM and 7:00PM is normal permitted construction hours. Between 7:00PM and 7:00AM, only work that does not create noise audible at the property line is permitted. Contractors are advised to check with the Homeowner's Association regarding work hour limitations.
