The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) has notified its wholesale customers that it will implement Stage 1 of its Drought Contingency Plan on June 3. With the district’s overall system capacity hovering at 75 percent and the persistence of drought conditions in North Texas, the decision will allow the district and its wholesale customers to conserve water until conditions improve. TRWD’s customers, including the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield and the Trinity River Authority, will implement a maximum two-day-a-week watering schedule and other water-saving measures.
