Stray Pets
Regional Animal Services has partnered with Pawboost to help reunite stray pets with their owners. Animals are added to the database as they're picked up and are removed from the database as their hold period expires. Visit the Stray Pet Database to access the department's Pawboost listings.
Center Protocol
Stray animals picked up by Regional Animal Services and brought to the Regional Animal Adoption Center are ineligible for adoption for three days' time so that owners have the opportunity to retrieve their pets.
Animal Services employees make every effort to contact the owners of animals who arrive with an ID tag or microchip, but it is the owner’s responsibility to contact the center if they have lost a pet. Once an animal’s hold period has expired, it will be added to the Humane Society of North Texas' pet inventory listings and be made available for adoption.
Please note that the Adoption Center has limited space, owners are asked to retrieve their pet within 24 hours of being notified by center staff.
