If a request does not meet the guidelines for a proclamation, the Mayor may approve your request for another type of recognition (Congratulations, Commendation, Recognition, Appreciation, etc.).
The Mayor of Westlake will make the final decision on whether a proclamation is issued or not. A copy of the proclamation may be requested by the individual(s) or organization(s) who request it at no cost.
In most cases, approved proclamations will be presented at a Town Council Meeting. Please plan your proclamation requests in conjunction with the Town Council Meetings. If your recognition does not need to take place at a council meeting, please submit your request for a proclamation at least two weeks prior to the event to the Town Secretary.
