Dear Westlake resident,As we continue to receive frequent questions about the progress of the Westlake Entrada development, we want to share the latest update regarding this prominent mixed-use development. Attached you will find a letter from the developer of Westlake Entrada, Merhdad Moayedi, addressed to Mayor Laura Wheat. This letter provides an update on the progress of the project. Also attached is a development schedule provided by the developer that details the specific advancement of the various areas in Entrada.
As most of you know, the Westlake Entrada development is generally located at the southeast corner of State Highway 114 and Davis Boulevard, with Solana Boulevard to the south. This highly visible area serves as a gateway to the Town of Westlake. Therefore, our high-quality design and construction standards become even more important at this location.
Since receiving initial approval from the Town Council in 2013, construction of the Entrada development has progressed at a slow pace. However, staff, as well as the Mayor and Council, have worked diligently with the developer to move this project along while still maintaining the high-quality contained in the zoning and development standards for Entrada. As promised at the Entrada Evening workshop held in March for the Westlake community, we are sharing this information with you to communicate the progress of construction and to provide a strong assurance to you as a citizen that promoting and maintaining the highest quality for this development is our top priority. The staff, along with the Mayor and Council, will be reviewing this schedule monthly with the developer to monitor its progress. Additionally, Town staff will continue to meet with the developer's team on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
